Goa
Goa has vast beaches, great food and parties that go on late into the night. Although this state on the west coast belongs to India, it is slightly different.
Goa belonged to Portugal until 1962. The former Portuguese colony was only united with the rest of India in 1962.
Goa enjoyed fame in the 1960s because of the large number of hippies that moved to this region in India. These hippies still live in in this state and live among the other 1.5 million inhabitants of the province.
The link between east and west can be found everywhere. You eat Indian curry on a typical Portuguese terrace and you go to the Catholic Church in your recently purchased Indian sari.
Goa is a regular stopover on almost every tour of India.
And it is now very popular among travelers as a summer holiday destination.
