Jaipur is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in India. The typical Indian culture, the good infrastructure and the many sights make the city a nice destination. Together with the cities of Agra and Delhi, Jaipur forms “the golden triangle” of India. Despite the better infrastructure, traffic can also be one big chaos here.
One of the most striking buildings in Jaipur is the Hawa Mahal, the Wind Palace. This palace, built in 1799, has an unusually high number of windows. These were placed so that the women of Maharaja Pratap Singh could look outside without being seen. Both outside and inside the palace is beautiful.

Jantar Mantar is a collection of 18 astronomical instruments that form the largest stone observatory in the world. The astronomical buildings built in 1727 are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A special temple is the Galtaji temple, also called the Monkey Temple. Hundreds of monkeys live here.

The Birla Mandir temple is very beautiful to see. This is a completely white temple, which is a welcome change from other temples in the country.

Other impressive buildings in Jaipur are the City palace, which nowadays displays art, costumes and weapons, and Jal Mahal, a palace in the middle of a lake.
